Everyone who owns a bull wants to sell semen for $200, $300 or even $1000 per straw. Don't let these exorbitant prices cause discouragement for using AI for rapid herd improvement. Everyone has alternatives. Here are some economical, different, and possibly smart directions to go with sire selections that are a little off the main grid.

 

Jubal Jangler Semen $25. He is sired by the excellent-type sire Over Kill and out of Shadow Jubilee ($120,000) one of the first over 90" cows. Only a few straws available. He has sired Joe Kid and some over 100" steers.
