DCCI Natural Service Chart - 1974 - 2014

Erstellt am: von Longhorn

At DCCI we highly respect producers who seriously study pedigrees, matings, conformation, weights and measurements. There are some families of cattle that excel in one or more of the above, but a very small number of cattle who excel in all of the above. Those are fewer and more difficult to purchase -- and raise.

Bulls by year

Dominant sires have been the success of the 46 year DCCI genetic and marketing plan. The attached chart is a reverse pedigree visual which shows every major sire who made a positive contribution -- 63 of them. It shows the moving target of the years these famous sires had progeny born from natural service.

The chart does not include female contributions and 111 other bulls who blessed these genetics with small number contributions. It doesn't include the carefully selected AI sires who placed special touches on the excellence.

There were 8 Great Cows who gave strength to the foundation of the industry. Today's top critters trace multiple times to these cows. This is where the quality came from on the female line: Measles, Miss Texas Ranger 262, Droop Horn, Rose Red, Ghost, Maressa, Rangers Measles and Doherty 698.

There were 8 Great Bulls who gave strength to the foundation of the industry. Today's top critters trace multiple times to these bulls. This is where the quality came from on the male line: WR 2308, Don Quixote, Classic, Superior, Texas Ranger JP, Impressive, Cowcatcher, and Bail Jumper.

Although, here at Dickinson Cattle Co, we are reluctant to release our 46 year breeding strategies, to "call names," and reveal the secrets -- but here are the heroes.

Our family looks forward to seeing you at Oklahoma City. Be sure and check out Drag Iron and Clear Win in living color, wearing their all natural fitted bull hides. Best, Darol Dickinson
