DICKINSON CATTLE CO would like to express gratitude to each and all involved in the annual BLUEGRASS FUTURITY. To Bill Hudson, Dan Huntington, Joe Sedlacek, the volunteers (dozens of great workers), Jim Ackers (CEO of Bluegrass Stockyards), the many sponsors, donors, futurity judges, Chase Vasut, (comic-color), and a cast of thousands (auctioneer embellishment)
The Bluegrass reportedly was the largest number of entries of any futurity. DCC had entries in 8 classes and won 4 firsts and 2 seconds. Considering nation-wide competition it was a great honor to win in this tough competition. Indications are that the Mid-West and southeastern USA may quite well be the growth areas for the Texas Longhorn breed.
